In other Rhythm City-related news, Briefly.co.za reported on the show's production having to be halted due to Covid-19 complications.

The television show had to stop all filming activity after an actress featured on the programme had tested positive for the coronavirus. According to regulations set by the South African government, the actress did isolate immediately following the positive result and all crew members with whom she interacted had to undergo tests too.

The pandemic affected every industry, including show business, as Rhythm City joined a host of other Mzansi shows that had filming interrupted by the coronavirus. Among those affected were Scandal!, The River, 7de Laan, Muvhango and SkeemSaam.
