Pitso Mosimane bids farewell to Sundowns: "Our bond is unbreakable"

Pitso Mosimane is officially no longer the head coach of the Mamelodi Sundowns and he bid farewell to the team in a couple of videos posted online.

Mosimane closed a chapter, which he described as an "incredible eight-year journey" on Twitter. The outspoken coach shared two videos of himself saying goodbye to the team and fans.

He captioned the one video:

"An end to an incredible eight-year journey."

In the video Mosimane confirms joining an "international team". He said he did not look for the opportunity but the universe offered it to him. Mosimane won 11 trophies during his time as head coach of the Mamelodi Sundowns and his impeccable record attracted the interest of the new club.

In a second video, Mosimane thanks the Sundowns and its president, Patrice Motsepe, for the time he spent with the club.

He is heard saying:

"I leave this family knowing our bond is unbreakable."

A live Instagram video has also gone viral showing Mosimane at OR Tambo Airport. The clip was shared by Mzansi College Challenge:

On Wednesday news broke that Mosimane resigned as the head coach of the Sundowns to join Al Ahly. Earlier, Briefly.co.za reported Mosimane is expected to receive an impressive salary at the Egyptian team.

It's been reported that Pitso Mosimane has been offered a salary of around R54 million from Al Ahly.

Although Mosimane did not reveal the name of the club he will begin working for, it is understood that he would be joining Al Ahly. The 56-year-old won his fifth SA championship through Sundowns last month.
