60-year-old woman says she chose to remain single after lover frustrated her

- Beatrice Wangui said that she chose to remain single after the man she was dating failed to show up for introduction at home after putting all plans in place

- Also, the 60-year-old says that her sister's two marriages contributed to her being single for she witnessed all the frustrations her elder went through

- Despite not being married or having children, Wangui has on several occasions being elected to head the Mothers Union in the Anglican Church of Kenya

The society expects that a woman should get a man and build a home together but for Beatrice Wangui she chose a different path.

Wangui, who served as a teacher in Murang'a, has been single and is enjoying growing old all alone with her close family members.

Speaking to Monicah Kagoni, the 60-year-old woman said she dedicated all her life to service and did not think of marriage.

According to her, she chose to remain single after a man she was in love with frustrated her after he failed to show up at their home as agreed for introduction to her mom.

"I was so engrossed in my work. I never said that I will never get married. When growing up I also wanted a home. I made a relationship and it grew. Later on, it frustrated me a lot and from then I told myself that all men are like that," she narrated.

Wangui said that the man did not show up and ended up giving her a lot of excuses but she had already made her decision.

The single woman said that seeing the things her elder sister was going through discouraged her. According to her, the sister divorced and later got married but still, there was no peace.

"My elder sister was married and there were a lot of problems in her marriage. She divorced and later got married again. Still, her second marriage did not go so well. Her marriage was not a good role model to me and so it contributed to me being single," added Wangui.

The learned woman said she has never regretted her decision.

Despite her not having kids, the 60-year-old has on several occasions being elected to head the Mothers Union in the Anglican Church of Kenya.

Meanwhile, gospel singer Size 8 has said money should never be the reason why people are attracted to each other.

The mother of two advised young couples to believe in their partner's potentials instead of measuring their worth through the size of their pockets.

The Mateke singer said in her Youtube Channel that when she and her hubby DJ Mo were dating, she was wealthier and more successful than him.

She drove a big car, lived in an upscale area and had a swollen bank account that put that of her partner to shame.
