President Akufo-Addo gave his many security detail and convoy a little break and decided to go out alone to have a good time at a restaurant.
According to reports sighted by Briefly.co.za on modernghana, President Akufo-Addo, together with just one bodyguard, walked in to the Royal Park Hotel in Kumasi to have dinner on Sunday, September 27.
The special visit to the hotel took place while the president was on a three-day tour of the Ashanti Region
Reports have it that President Akufo-Addo quietly walked into the restaurant of the hotel and sat patiently while waiting for his turn to be served.
However, his presence in the restaurant got many people seated on edge and wanted to see if truly the first gentleman of the land was the same person who had come alone to have dinner at the restaurant.
As at the time the president was enjoying his meal, the Asokwa Constituency New Patriotic Party (NPP) 1st Vice-Chairman, Edmund Kyei, and other party members were also in the hotel.
Mr Kyei is believed to have been hosting some NPP members after their campaign activities and approached the president after he had finished having his dinner and held some discussions with him.
Noticing that it was indeed Akufo-Addo in the restaurant, excited Ghanaians hailed him and he readily responded to the cheers. Before leaving the restaurant, President Akufo-Addo took pictures with Mr Kyei and other people present.
Meanwhile, the founder and leader of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Akua Donkor, has been spotted on a political campaign flier in her bid to contest for the presidency in December 2020.
The flier, which was spotted by Briefly.co.za on Instagram, showed the popular female politician beaming with her signature smile as she looked into the camera.
The flier clearly stated the politician's intent as it was written on it boldly: "Akua Donkor for President 2020."
