Nomzamo Mbatha gave a moving speech at The 25th Anniversary of Beijing Women’s Conference High-Level Meeting. Being a strong and inspiring woman that she is, Nomzamo had invaluable words of wisdom to share.
The meeting took place on 1 October on the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Platform for Action convened by the President of the General Assembly. Member States are expected to put into action their commitments toward a more gender-equal world, something Nomzamo feels extremely passionate about.
Being chosen to speak, Nomzamo prepared a speech worth listening to. Taking to social media prior to the meeting, Nomzamo expressed her pride and excitement. Being able to have her voice heard through a channel of this stature is huge!
“Tomorrow I will be delivering a speech at #Beijing25 – one of the main High Level events of this year’s #UNGA, It will be opened by the Secretary General of the UN, the President of the General Assembly, China as host and UN Women ED Mam’Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka,” she announced.
Nomzamo spoke at the meeting yesterday which took place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City. Nomzamo represented as an Eminent High-Level Champion on Gender Equality and UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador.
Nomzamo’s speech touched souls far and wide. It is time that women are seen as equals and that men stand by the sides of their mothers, sisters, girlfriends, nieces, and gogos and put an end to gender inequality.
