Kendrick Lamar, world-famous American rapper, has reportedly left his record label with hopes of starting his own one. The artist was signed to Top Dog Entertainment but a rumour was leaked online that the rapper had left in order to start his own label and call it pgLang.
The DAMN artist is credited with rights on the website for pgLang but the online rumours about the real reason Lamar left have had the internet buzzing. TDE's president took to social media to cryptically address the rumours but only said that they travel faster than the truth.
This did nothing to quash the chatter happening on the internet, with many speculating that there was more going on behind the scenes that would have pushed Lamar to the edge.

pgLang is self-described as being a collective of multilingual creatives who will tell stories through music, TV, film and books. The label is also set to include Baby Keem, Murder District and Jorja Smith.
Kendrick Lamar left Top Dog and took collaborator Dave Free with him. The company was registered in March 2020 but the internet's rumour mill is churning about who and what they will sign next.

The winner of the same category from last year, Burna Boy, is nominated alongside the three South Africans. Since the category is from all of Africa, there are some other nations being represented too. Our local musicians are accompanied by Rema from Nigeria, Sheebah from Uganda and Gaz Mawete, who hails from the DRC.
Nominees for other awards on the night include superstars from around the world. Lady Gaga bagged the most nominations with seven in total and Korean group BTS tied with Justin Bieber for their five nods.
