Ntsiki Mazwai has shared her two cents on the new Mzansi Magic show called Izangoma Zodumo. The new programme premiered on Wednesday night and the singer was definitely not impressed.
The opinionated star took to Twitter to post a scathing video where she slammed the producers of the show for "undermining their own spirituality".
"You don’t even have the brilliance or foresight to teach what African spirituality is, instead you go drag yourselves on the floor like freaking idiots and you think everybody must clap for you after you have undermined your own spirituality."
She bashed the show for making a mockery of black people's spirituality on TV. The poet expressed:
"The Jews are not ridiculing their own spirituality. The Christians are not ridiculing own their spirituality. But the self hating monkeys are making a mockery of ubungoma on TV. Pathetic and Sad. Blacks need psychological help."
Ntsiki wants Mzansi Magic to stop airing the show. She has even gone as far as creating a petition online.
"Mzansi magic: Stop a reality show that discriminates our African tradition and the traditional healing. - Sign the Petition!"
Tweeps have shared mixed reactions to Ntsiki's post. Check out some of their comments below:
"What exactly was disrespectful about the show?"
"That whole channel is a mockery to black people."
"What did we do as black people to be disrespected and belittled like this?"
"It’s a shame that’s she thinks religion is the answer to our problems. I understand in sort of a culture/tradition preservation act, we can’t allow ourselves to fully take in everything the west has to offer. But religion will never be the answer to our problems!"
In other news, Briefly.co.za reported that Rami Chuene took to social media to share that she wants the Hawks to raid the entertainment industry next. She said when the Hawks are done arresting corrupt Mzansi politicians and government officials they must come for the greedy entertainment bosses.
The Isono actress wants the Hawks to investigate alleged corruption and exploitation in her industry. Rami tweeted:
"As soon as Hawks are done with politics they must come to the mighty, unstoppable and greedy entertainment ‘gods’. The corruption, greed and exploitation has built many mansions and bought many cars leaving many artists broke since the days of Bophelo ke Semphekgo."
Tweeps shared mixed reactions to the veteran actress' post. Some even accused her of being jealous of the Fergusons. Rami recently butted heads with the Fergusons when she exited The Queen. She explained that she wasn't just talking about one production company but the whole industry.
