Cassper Nyovest has revealed that he's not looking to sign any artists to Family Tree anytime soon. The rapper was responding to a tweep on Twitter on Tuesday, 13 October.
The Amademoni hitmaker shared that for now he just wants to focus on himself as an artist. The star also revealed that Nadia Nakai will remain the only signee at his record label because she's a "hard worker". Cass responded to @DestinyMindset:
"Maybe producers but not artist anytime soon. I just wanna be an artist for the next few years. Nadia is the only one cause she's loyal and she's a hard worker who don't wait on me. My studio is almost done so ima be labbing out with a few producers and artists soon."
Mufasa, who dropped his new album Any Minute Now at the beginning of September, also announced that the construction of Family Tree offices is up and running again after it was halted due to the Covid-19 lockdown.
"The Family Tree studios/offices construction is up and running again. Studio will be done in like a month and then then we finishing the office. A dream come true. Now I can call myself a rap mogul cause I got a whole office and studio that I built ground up!!!"
Tweeps took to his comment section to share mixed reactions to the news that he's not looking to sing any artists soon. Check out some of the comments below:
"You're scared you might sign rappers who are better than you."
"Keep us updated on this. As a producer I'd love to be given this opportunity."
"Please bro I’d love to be considered, I honestly wanna submit my work. Would be a dream come true working with you."
In related news, Briefly.co.za reported that Lavida Nota recently claimed that Cassper Nyovest refused to sign Nasty C to his record label, Family Tree. Nota, who is Kwesta's former manager, told MacG on Podcast and Chill with MacG that Cassper once refused to sign the There They Go hitmaker.
Nota claimed Cass couldn't sign Nasty C because he was scared he would outshine him at his own record label. Nota said he had approached Cass way before Nasty C signed to Def Jam. According to Nota, Cass replied: "He was like, 'I can't sign him because he will look better than me on my own label'."
Cassper Nyovest indirectly addressed Nota's claims. He replied to hip-hop producer Tweezy who asked him on Twitter "what is falling off" following Nota's claims. Cassper responded:
"When you no longer the dude you think you are. When you have to lie cause your reality is not as exciting. When you have to make up theories that suit your narrative but can't prove them. When people have forgotten about your reign and you hate on everything, you have fallen off!"
