Celebrating even the smallest things in your life can bring you so much joy. A South African man recently did just that when he shared some pictures of his bedroom when he first started to build it up and how it looks now.
In the humble Twitter post, @DatsME_L shows the small bedroom with a mattress on the floor and a makeshift table using a small chair under the caption, "How it started." The next frame, which was captioned, "How it got better," he shared another picture of the bedroom, which is now equipped with a mattress base and an actual table.
Twitter users who were overwhelmed by the man's humble post liked it nearly 19 000 times. They also took to the comments section to commend the man on his humble nature. Many of them shared similar stories about how they, too, had started from similar beginnings.
Read some of their comments below.
"You remind me of mine mfana, I even had bricks to add the suspension, that bed was lit."
"At least you had a mattress, mina I slept on the floor, but wishing you well in all you do. Bless up."
While @ThendoMau commented:
"It's the achievements people, things that are small are life-changing."
In a similar heartwarming story, Briefly.co.za reports, everyone has a picture of what their dream house will look like. However, size doesn't matter to all and some are content with just being homeowners.
Trevor Menlyn Sidogi is one of the latter. The inspiring man - who has made a name for himself as a talented artist on Twitter - showed off his humble crib again this week. The artist finished building the house for himself earlier this year and he has not been shy about showing it off. He captioned the post:
"Someone will RT someone's achievement, I'm proudly owning a 1-room house, my home is beautiful."
The post gathered over 2 000 reactions and South Africans were touched by how proud he is of his house.
