NBA team Los Angeles Lakers recently took home its 17th championship title in a move that excited most, if not all of their fans, across the world.
It is important to note that the Lakers beat Miami Heat on Sunday, October 11 in Game 6 of the NBA finals. Many people spared their time to honour the team for their win as they celebrated the title.
Among the people who joined the group of Lakers fans in honouring the team's win was none other than American rapper Snoop Dogg.
The rapper not only paid tribute to the team for the victory but also one of its iconic players of all times, Kobe Bryant, who died tragically in January 2020.
Snoop thought it wise to pay homage to his late friend Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers with a bold commitment.
The rapper took to the tattoo parlour and got himself inked with a sizeable arm tattoo.
Snoop ''sacrificed'' his entire forearm which got tatted with a detailed ink tribute featuring Kobe Bryant’s initials, the NBA championship trophy, the Lakers team logo and the gates of Heaven.
Briefly.co.za has learnt the rapper sought the services of tattoo artist Mister Cartoon, who gave him a perfect piece of art on his arm in honour of the team’s 17th championship title and the NBA icon who died in a helicopter crash earlier this year.
Announcing to fans about his new tattoo, the rapper shared a video of himself getting the ink on Instagram. He then followed it up by yet another video of himself talking about the tattoo in detail.
“As you see, tat is done. KB on the bottom. Kobe Bryant. Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy with the Lakers going through the ball. Gates of Heaven up top, and it don’t stop. Laker Nation. Thank y’all, Lakers. And thank you, Mister Cartoon, in a real motherf*cking way. We the West and we the best,” Snoop said.
The rapper has been vocal about his love for NBA and has never stopped mourning the late Kobe.
Snoop even performed a tribute for Bryant in which he rapped over footage of Bryant’s career and murals that have gone up since the star’s death during the ESPY Awards in June, 2020.
