African man becomes professor and business owner in North Cyprus

A man identified as Ifeanyi Obi has taken to social media to inspire people to never give up on their dreams.

Obi said he left Nigeria for North Cyprus in 2008 for his master's degree with only 250£ and a vision to make it in life.

He said he went through difficulties in the foreign country, adding that he was able to complete his masters and PhD studies despite the hardship.

"Coming from Nigeria, I knew I had to work extra hard but it was more difficult without any substantial financial sponsorship.
"I remember a particular incident I wasn't even allowed into an office to drop my CV, I heard "no chance here". I started from scratch by doing any job and business available and through all that completed my Masters and PhD studies."

He said he is now a professor in one of the best universities in Cyprus and the founder of Harcom Holdings.

According to him, his company is the first African-owned shareholding business in Cyprus.

Earlier, Briefly.co.za reported that a lady identified as Mfon Abia has taken to social media to celebrate after being offered a job she did not apply for in the United States.

She said she got a call from The Academy, Miami, Florida, offering her a job and asking her to send her CV if she was interested.

She wrote: "I am pleased to announce to this Honourable House that come Monday, August 3rd 2020, I will no longer be a jobless Nigerian youth and will resume at The Academy, Miami, Florida, USA."
