The long battle between SARS and Shauwn Mkhize's company Zikhulise Cleaning Maintenance & Transport came to a head at the Pretoria High Court where a final liquidation was ordered against the company.

The South African Revenue Service (SARS) brought forward the application for outstanding debts coming to a total R204 million. Mkhize has said in the past that SARS had been acting in bad faith by refusing to enter into a deferred payment arrangement, however, the court dissolved those claims.

SARS issued a statement on Friday stating that the company attempted to show that it met the solvency test by disputing the debt to SARS. The judge relied on the information from SARS that the company was indeed indebted and legally insolvent.

SARS said: "While SARS will always respect the right of taxpayers to approach the courts to seek relief, it will opposeany such court action if it is vexatious and intent on stalling the debt collection process."

It seems as though the "soft life" has finally caught up with Mam'Mkhize.
