Shauwn Mkhize has finally come forward to tell her side of the story regarding the SARS drama that made headlines many times over. It isn’t as dramatic as people have made it out to be.
Deciding to speak out on the matter, Shauwn just wanted to clear the air so that people can stop making incorrect assumptions.
Shauwn recently had an interview with eNCA in which she gave the rundown on the situation. Apparently, an agreement with SARS had already been reached back in 2019. She told the news broadcaster:
"Two days ago my lawyers sent me a judgement from the liquidation, that matter happened in 2016. You know how our justice system works, so much has happened after that."
While SARS had applied to liquidate Shauwn, the order did not go through and therefore she was not liquidated, so she explained.
"After that we went to the tax court with SARS, the matter was appealed and we reached a settlement with SARS. Now everybody is getting excited about this like it is a new thing. In any case, I've instructed my lawyers to appeal so that it comes to an end and that it's finalised and we're good to go again.”
Shauwn also made it clear that while she owes SARS money, it is nothing near to the R204 million that has been floating around headlines – apparently, SARS owes her money too.
She also explained that the reason she changed her identity was not to get away from SARS but that she needed to reinvent herself.
"I needed to change my identity, which was tainted, I needed to ensure that I clean my house, get my things in order so that I could be seen as a proper businesswoman."
Briefly.co.za previously reported that Mzansi reality TV star and businesswoman Shauwn Mkhize just received a Woman of the Year Award and we are not even surprised. Shauwn has proven many times that she is capable of achieving pretty much anything.
Shauwn was recognised at the fourth Hollywood and Africa Prestigious Awards for the incredible woman that she is. Receiving an award of this stature is no small accomplishment.
Entertainment news commentator, Phil Mphela, took to social media to make the big announcement. Shauwn has done it again!
