5 Things you might not know about the Dube Brothers

The Dube Brothers made headlines with their first album “Step Up” in 2013, now South Africans can’t wait to hear their new single “Blessed” from their upcoming 2018 record.

The music group consist of three brothers, Mthokozisi, Sihle and Buhle. The siblings are the sons of Gospel super-star, Pastor Benjamin Dube.

But, here are five things you probably did not know about the Dube Brothers:

1. The brothers started singing when Mthokozisi was 18, Sihle 15 and Buhle only 9-years-old.

2. They had their first recording opportunities on two of their father’s albums: “Worship In His Presence” and “Healing In His Presence”.

3. Working with their father paved the way for them, which helped them to make a name. However, the brothers did not decide on Gospel as their genre because of their dad, but because “it felt right”.

4. Mthokozisi and Sihle are both smart young men, with Mthokozisi qualifying as a sound engineer from the renowned Sound Engineering Academy in Johannesburg, and Sihle graduated with a degree in Branding and Communications.

5. The youngest brother, Buhle, matriculated from the National School of Arts, where he focused on his music and acting career.
