Our favourite clap-back/restaurant business is at it again. This time they may just have caught a little competition and may be a tad bit worried. A young South African lady, Taja Wanita Samuels recently shared her pretty good attempt at making their famous peri-peri chicken livers.
Taking to Twitter - the one place you're guaranteed to get a response from the witty Nandos marketing team, @Mogomotsi_MoreG shared the video, asking Nandos if the recipe and execution of the dish were close enough.
While many Twitter users were left with their mouths watering at the homemade peri livers, Nandos shared a rather haughty response with the Twitter user, saying, "If only YOU can try it out, o tla re botsa after (you can tell us later.)"
Twitter users could tell a hater when they saw one, taking to the comment section to share their thoughts, most of them agreeing that the meal looked quite tasty, vowing to give the homemade meal a go. One of the tweeps, @Pham_bili commented:
"Yours actually look so much better if we're being honest... Kodwa mna I'd onion to mine."
While @geexeerapper said:
"Mhmm so tasty good recipe I'm planning to sell it with pap."
Briefly.co.za previously reported how there is a new chicken fast-food brand in South Africa and Nando's has already taken jabs at them. Kauai's owner has launched a new fast-food brand in South Africa called Free Bird, and it will be competition for the likes of KFC and Nando's.
So, after news broke about Free Bird, Nando's took a shot at the owner of the brand, Kauai. Playing on the company's name, Nando's tagged Kauai Global and asked:
"This you? Why Kwaai? #dontgobacktonormal."
Nando's is known for its fiery comments and posts on Twitter but that didn't stop Kauai on clapping back.Kauai wrote:
"That’s funny! Not so funny are the abnormal rates of avoidable type 2 diabetes in South Africa. So, we’ll leave the funny to you guys and you can leave the healthy to us. #dontgobacktoabnormal."
Nando's did not leave it there and reacted with:
"We’ve had a healthy obsession with flame-grilling since ‘87."
