Amapiano duo Mapara A Jazz have one of the biggest songs in the country right now. Their smash hit titled John Vuli Gate featuring Colano and Ntosh Gaz is on high rotation on radio stations across Mzansi.
The duo's banging tune recently made its way into the Shazam Global Chart Top 50. They are sitting comfortably at number 46. The song has gone viral on social media and is behind the current dance challenge #JohnVuliGateChallenge.
Mzansi celebs such as Moonchild Sanelly and Lamiez Holworthy as well as ordinary citizens have taken up the challenge.
In a statement, Mapara A Jazz shared that it is a dream come true for them to have people Shazam their track around the globe. They also shared that they are pleased that the song is trending right here at home.
"People all over are taking part in the dance challenge of John Vuli Gate and loving the song. We are very happy to debut in Shazam's charts and reach the Global Top 50. It shows people are really loving our music and want to stream it."
The musicians have revealed that they also want to shoot the music video of the song with the young ladies who made the song trend. They want to work with Tshegofatso Maepa, Katlego Mohlahlo, Kgomotso Aphane, Oratilwe Mokwatlo and Lebogang Motalane, who hail from Mpumalanga.
In other music news, Briefly.co.za reported that that Riky Rick dropped a new summer banger. The rapper trended on social media after he released the epic single titled Ungazincishi.
The star's fans, who had been patiently waiting for him to drop a new project, took to Twitter to praise him for giving them a dope track just in time for the festive season. They believe that the new joint will dominate dance floors and music charts in December.
The Boss Zonke hitmaker has become popular in Mzansi for dropping just one song that takes over the country. The hashtag #UNGAZINCISHI trended when he officially released the single just after midnight on Friday, 2 October. He features Focalistic and Tyler ICU on the new offering. One of his fans @TheRealAzee_RSA wrote:
