Thuso Mbedu is making Mzansi proud. The actress was cast in an international series last year and director, Barry Jenkins, just dropped a teaser for the final cut.
Mbedu stars as the lead in the show as a character named Cora Randall. The period drama follows Cora's journey as a young black girl in the American South. Cora escapes the Georgia plantation to find a literal underground railroad with secrets and networks beneath the treacherous land above.
The series is titled The Underground Railroad and is based on the novel of the same name by Colson Whitehead. The book won the Pulitzer Prize in 2017. Mbedu is starring alongside actors Chase W. Dillon and Joel Edgerton.
