For Sale: Beautiful Noetzie Castle Knysna up for auction at R56 million

Pezula Castle on Noetzie beach near Knysna on the Garden Route will go on auction in February in the first High Street Auctions of 2018.

The private castle is next to the exclusive Pezula Private Estate.

According to High Street lead auctioneer and director, Joff van Reenen, the property is marketed as a single ‘castle’. found out, however, the prospective buyer would actually gain a total of three buildings.

There’s the Main castle, a Honeymoon castle as well as a Little castle, all covering 1 000 square metres.

In 2015, the property was listed for sale at R56 million, but unable to find a suitable buyer, the property will now be auctioned off.

Van Reenen said that the castles last changed hands more than seven years ago for R35 million, and have, in recent years reappeared on the market through traditional real estate brokerages.

“They were also marketed abroad in countries such as the UK, but as was the case locally, brokers were unable to source a suitable buyer.”

According to, the castle grants owners direct access to the secluded Noetzie Beach. Other features include five “ultra-luxurious suites with en-suite bathrooms in three separate castles”.

The castle is said to be “fully furnished and fitted” with a “heated rim-flow pool, huge terraces with panoramic beach views, a gymnasium, underfloor heating, wood burning fireplaces, a climate control wine cellar and a chef’s kitchen fire pit in the backyard”.

The auction will take place on 21 February at Summer Place in Hyde Park, Johannesburg.
