Samuel Tiyani Mabunda, the 32-year-old international footballer, is not letting a couple of fraud and money laundering charges change how he feels about Prophet Shepherd Bushiri.
Mabunda shared a photo of himself with Bushiri on Twitter and gushed about his "father." He captioned the post:
"When I grow up, I wanna be like my father MAJOR 1. #istandwithmajor1"

Social media users had a lot to say, poking fun at Mabunda for calling a man who is only four years older than him his "father".
Twitter user, @Cellular_ZA, commented:
"So le wena you want to scam other kids and manipulate them?"
Another tweep, @vigorous____, added:
"You hardly tweet about the man who brought you to this world. I'm talking about your BIOLOGICAL father."
Social media user, @mesheckmhlongo, wrote:
"May the glory of the #HAWKS locate you the moment you start being like him... Stay in your lane Shuga, do that what you know best, play soccer and stop doing deputy Bushiri... God gave you a gift of soccer not chipiliro gama..."
Briefly.co.za previously reported it has been a dramatic week for Shepherd Bushiri and his wife. Things came to a head this week as they appeared in court on a bail hearing.
His supporters gathered outside the court on Friday and threatened to pray for divine retribution against the magistrate while handing out photos of her. The couple's bail application has been set back to Monday, which means that they would have to spend the weekend in police custody.
Bushiri's followers have taken their loyalty to the next level. Last week, a video was shared online showing his supporters hurling so-called 'holy water' at a Hawks vehicle.
Social media user, @TbixSa, posted the clip online and captioned it:
"Bushiri congregants using holy water to get rid of the Hawks. They are screaming FIRE! FIRE! at the Hawks car..."
