Bushiris entangled in array of fraudulent Home Affairs papers
Self-proclaimed Shepard Bushiri and his wife Mary are living in South Africa illegally

Shepard and Mary Bushiri are not only in trouble over their alleged get-rich-quick scams, they are now in hot water over the documents they used to come into South Africa and open a number of businesses.
Minister of Home Affairs Aaron Motsoaledi in an interview with Bongi Gwala on SAfm confirmed that the controversial church leaders were living in the country illegally. According to the minister, the pair arrived here with approved visitors' visas.
The visitors' visas are only meant to accommodate a short period stay - usually about a month or two. The couple however managed not only to stay in the country for years, they also registered multiple businesses.

It was further discovered that Mary Bushiri had entered the country via OR Tambo Airport in 2012 using a fraudulent permanent residents' permit that was issued in 1997. Mary's next move proved the document to be a fake after she and her husband again applied for permanent residency permits in 2016.
According to a News24 article, the minister had admitted that officials at South African Home Affairs were involved in helping the Bushiris obtain the fraudulent documents. Responding to Bongi's question whether officials were involved, he said:
"Absolutely, absolutely."
In more Briefly.co.za Bushiri news, Home Affairs officials who allegedly issued Prophet Bushiri and his wife Mary with permanent residence documents have been suspended. Bushiri and Mary are not South African citizens, they are citizens of Malawi.
The couple were issued with notices that their applications for permanent residence were incorrectly granted. Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi told eNCA that the officials had not been suspended for incorrectly granting the permanent residence but for other reasons.
However, their role in the issuance of the permanent residence to the couple is being probed. Bushiri and his wife Mary are also facing charges of money laundering, theft and fraud in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court.
