US singer and songwriter Frank Ocean is celebrating his 33rd birthday today, 28 October. The star is known worldwide for hits such as Thinkin Bout You and Godspeed. Frank also has his own Beats 1 radio show, Blonded Radio, that often debuts his new singles.

Frank is one of the coolest songwriters currently and he has written dope tracks for other superstars such as Justin Bieber, John Legend and Brandy.
Frank was born in Long Beach, California. He began his career in the music industry as a ghostwriter before he joined the hip hop group called Odd Future in 2010.

1. Debut Mixtape
Frank released a successful debut mixtape titled Nostalgia, Ultra in 2011 and subsequently secured a recording contract with Def Jam Recordings. The mixtape had tracks such as Strawberry Swing and We All Try.
2. Debut Studio Album
The musician released his debut studio album Channel Orange in 2012. It was one of the most acclaimed albums that year. The project was even nominated for Album of the Year at the 2013 Grammy Awards.
3. Musical Influence
When Frank was five years old, he and his family relocated to New Orleans. He was first introduced to music through his mother. She used to play jazz music on her car stereo and that's where Frank's love for music began.
The musician has won two Grammy Awards, a Brit Award for International Male Solo Artist in 2013 and an NME Award for Best International Male Artist in 2017. His hit single Thinkin Bout You garnered Frank a nomination for Record of the Year at the 2013 Grammy Awards.
5. Forbes and Time's Recognitions
The influential musician was included in the 2013 edition of the Time's list of the 100 most influential people in the world and in 2017, Frank was included in the edition of the Forbes 30 Under 30.
In other music news, Briefly.co.za reported that Rick Ross recently bought himself 87 acres of land in Georgia. The star forked out a whopping $1 million (over R16 million) for the land in Fayetteville in Georgia, US.
The land is not far from his multi-million-dollar mention. The Boss hitmaker took to Instagram on Thursday, 22 October to share a snap of himself and his realtor holding a "sold" sign on the property.
The proud new owner of the huge chunk of land captioned his post: "Promise [sic] Land just got bigger." The Maybach Music Group founder's peers in the music industry and his fans flooded his comment section on the photo-sharing app to congratulate him. One fan, shaheem_shahan, wrote:
"It must be a blessing to be able to buy anything in the world and never have to be told no. Blessings."
