Ntsiki Mazwai has taken to social media to target flamboyant media personality Somizi Mhlongo. Ntsiki took to Twitter on Tuesday, 3 November and told her fans that the reality TV star "won't make history".
The poet shared that the new Somizi has "no craft". Ntsiki, who is popular for criticising Mzansi stars on social media, shared that maybe the old Somgaga would have had a chance to make history in the country because he had a craft. Somizi used to be an actor on the legendary Mzansi movie Sarafina some years ago.
"Lol it's cute if you think people like Somizi will make history.... Maybe the old Somizi who had a craft. But the new Somizi is just gonna be rich in this lifetime but won't make history. Money and wealth doesn't make history unless you CREATED something."
Tweeps have flooded Ntsiki's comment section to share their reactions to her post. Many of them have disagreed with her. One tweep told the star that Somizi's ancestors are showing off, hence he has so many jobs in the entertainment industry. Somizi has a cooking show, a reality TV show and he is also a presenter on Metro FM, among other jobs. @trsherself said:
"Somizi had fame and some money and it was all gone and he came back with everything like he was never down and out, amadlozi kaSomizi are showing off... It's like Boity, she was okay then boom calling and her ancestors came out and are showing off, amadlozi abo (it's is their ancestors)."
Ntsiki replied to the tweep:
"My grandmother always used to remind me that you don't know what people do at night, so never look at others and yearn."
Other social media users slammed Ntsiki for dragging Somizi. Check out some of the comments from other tweeps below:
"I rather be rich and make no history! Why would I choose to suffer and make history for strangers? He will be remembered and celebrated by Bahumi nd Bahumi's kids..."
"What is it that you are doing to make history or change? Besides criticising and having opinions about things."
"A wise man once said if you have nothing good to say about others rather keep quiet."
"And you think you will also make history for always criticising anyone doing better than you... Tjooo Ntsiki."
In other news, Briefly.co.za reported that Mzansi musician L'vovo Derrango has cautioned peeps to take some time off social media. The Palesa hitmaker recently took to Twitter to urge his followers to take time away from social media and concentrate on their dreams.
The star just wants his fans to focus on improving their lives instead of spending so much of their time on social media. He warned his 259k followers not to be consumed by "this monster". Since the Covid-19 lockdown began earlier this year, many people have used social media as a form of entertainment.
L'vovo asked his fans not to lose themselves on the many platforms. The musician who is very active on Twitter wrote:
"You will lose yourself, you will always be angry or you will forever be laughing at stupid things instead of working towards your dream and a better life. SOCIAL MEDIA DETOX IS VERY IMPORTANT. Do bot allow yourself to be consumed by this monster. Take a break, ghost people. Live!"
