- Siphelele Ntshangase's ex-coach Kosta Papic has shared some serious advice with the Kaizer Chiefs midfielder
- According to Papic, Ntshangase needs to focus more on the game and less on women and booze
- Ntshangase previously played for Black Leopards where Papic is a head coach
Kosta Papic recently shared a lengthy word of advice with Siphelele Ntshangase. According to Papic, Ntshangase needs to shift his focus from partying, buying expensive cars and entertaining women.
In a recent interview, Papic said that Ntshangase has a ton of unrealised potential which is wasting away because he is more focused on the lifestyle and the fame that comes with being a popular South African footballer.
"“When you wearing the Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates jersey, you think you are reaching cloud nine. It affects the brain."
Papic, who is the former coach of Ntshangase, believes that the young footballer can become player of the season should he stop allowing distractions to get in the way of his football skills, adding that Gavin Hunt, who is Chiefs' coach, will give him a chance to prove himself.
"If he stops thinking about those things and concentrates on football, and only football, he’s going to be the player of the season," said Papic in the Marawa Moments interview.
The comments come after Ntshangase seems to be sitting out of the majority of games, which has left football fans asking questions about his absence on the field.
Meanwhile, IOL reports that Ntshangase during a 2018 interview with them said that humility meant everything to him. He also added that he wanted to be remembered for the difference he made in the game.
Soccer fans seemed to have the same faith as Papic in Ntshangase when he was first signed, taking to social media to express how happy they were for his signing. Meanwhile, others expressed that he had been given enough time to prove himself.
"#Ntshangase needs to up his game. I think he's been given enough chance to prove his worth. We have #Mahlasela to replace @Ntshangase."
In other Briefly.co.za soccer news, Kaizer Chiefs seem to be suffering a long trophy drought. It has been five years since they last had a taste of victory and with the way things are looking now, the team may just add another year to their long wait.
Last weekend the team suffered an embarrassing defeat against Orlando Pirates during an MTN8 semifinal first leg match at the Orlando Stadium. While they had a few good chances to make a comeback during the game, their efforts were not enough. A disappointed Hunt had this to say:
“We will try to win the game. That’s the most important thing to do. That will be the most important thing.
