Sean Combs is turning 51 and boasts an enviable track record in the entertainment industry that includes Grammys, VMAs and a spot on Rolling Stone's Greatest Albums of All Time list.
Sean Combs has gone by many names in his illustrious music career; P. Diddy, Puff Daddy, Diddy and Puffy. However, every version of him turns 51 years old today, on 4 November.
The artist has spent many years in the music industry, breaking onto the scene in 1993 at the age of 24 when he started record label, Bad Boy Entertainment.

5 Diddy is a daddy to six kids
Diddy is father of sons Quincy, Justin, Christian and daughters Chance, Jessie and D'Lila. Jessie, D'Lila and Christian he shares with the late Kim Porter. Porter's son, Quincy, was from a previous relationship of hers who Diddy considers his adoptive son. Chance and Justin are from his own previous relationships.
4 Diddy has an Honorary Doctorate from Howard University
Diddy actually dropped out of the University to pursue an internship in the music industry. When he gave the commencement speech at the institution in 2014, Howard gave him an honorary doctorate degree.

3 Diddy is an entrepreneur in fashion and alcohol brands
Diddy did not amass his almost $900 million fortune from music alone. He sold his majority stake in his clothing line Sean John in 2016 which reports $450 million in annual sales. The icon also promotes Ciroc vodka and has made it the alcoholic beverage of choice for the entertainment industry elite.
2 Diddy prides himself on his philanthropy
The mogul makes sure to prioritise giving in his life, he spoke to Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show and said,
"“I love being a host. It’s about hosting and it’s about giving – nobody is going to remember the takers, Jimmy. Nobody’s going to remember the takers, they’re going to remember the givers…"
Diddy ran the New York City Marathon in 2003 and raised $2 million for a children's charity. In 2017, he gave $100 000 to Puerto Rico after the devastation of Hurricane Maria. He then gave an additional $25 000 to Hurricane Harvey victims in Texas and also $100 000 to The Gathering for Justice, a charity that raises awareness for civil rights and social issues.

The artist was influenced by the likes of Brucie B. and Kid Capri and the mixtapes of their sounds. So, Diddy started with remixes such as "Come and Talk to Me", and eventually made the sound mainstream through collaborations with TLC, Faith Evans, and the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul, Mary J. Blige.
