Some peeps have mistaken Cape Town actress Danica Jones for Pearl Thusi. The two really do look similar now that people have pointed it out.
Danica stars in Mzansi’s widely loved soapie Generation: The Legacy and is a fan favourite. Taking to social media, Danica felt the need to clear up the fact that it is not Pearl in the show, it is she.
People have been watching Generation: The Legacy thinking Pearl is the one acting in the soapie when really it has been Danica the whole time.
“Hi guys, so to answer all the messages that I’ve been getting... no I am not related to Pearl Thusi nor am I Pearl Thusi. My name is Danica Jones”, she said.
Seeing the clip, many others clicked as to why people confused her with Pearl. Social media was buzzing with comments comparing Danica and Pearl and discussing their uncanny similarities.
“You really do look like Pearl it's amazing how y'all really look alike and the voices too. You ain't convincing sis... Somebody knows something ”
"Aightttttt, thou u look lovely famo Can I get some follow bac ”
While Danica just came on to clear the air, she thanked the people for the kind compliment as looking like Pearl is not something Danica is annoyed about. Pearl is a flame!
“Ah thank you lovely I still don’t see the resemblance, but she’s lovely... so it’s definitely a compliment ”
Briefly.co.za previously reported that Pearl Thusi posted an image of herself rocking a nose ring and fans were shocked at how closely she now resembles DJ Zinhle. The star also uncharacteristically rocked a black, wavy wig. The whole look made her look like she could be Zinhle's long-lost sister.
One fan wrote, "No, guys. You are confusing me now. Who is Pearl and who is Zinhle here?"
Another said, "For a minute, I thought you were Zinhle. I need to go clean my eyes."
