Mzansi actress Makgotso M is trending on social media after she exposed an alleged rapist. The actress took to social media to share that her friend's father was sexually abusing his grandchildren.
In a series of videos posted on her Twitter account, Makgotso shared her disappointment that this "violent" man is still at large.
Using the now-trending hashtag #ArrestSiphoPhillipNgobese, Makgotso said:
"The police station at Brackendowns really should be ashamed of themselves. For the full video go on my Instagram or Facebook. Please share the video. I don't want to normalise silence anymore. Thank you @SAPoliceService @CyrilRamaphosa"
She went on to say:
"How many of us have personally experienced sexual abuse? How many of us know of people who have experienced sexual abuse? How many of us have been bullied to keeping quiet? How many of us live with the trauma of abuse while the perpetrators are free to live their lives. Too many!"
Her videos got the attention of Mzansi social media users who weighed in on the situation. While a handful insisted that there was more to the story and wanted to hear Ngobese's side, others were as horrified as Makgotso. Twitter user Shareefa_B said:
"Please DM me your case number. I will see to it that your case is handled effectively"
"Blame ur magistrates and not police. Police do their duty by apprehending the perpetrators and hand them to the right institutions. After that, abangen ndawo bona, angithi niyezwa?"
"We live in a sick world. Women and Child abuse crimes are not prioritized in South Africa"
"If you wanna be happy in this country be a criminal. The law protects them so much it's not even funny, I was just last week on Thursday by the police station they told me theres nothing they can do I must go to court."
"My heart breaks for the kidsBroken heartBroken heart, this is barbaric. He must rot in jail @SAPoliceservice why do we have to plead with you to have mercy on us. @CyrilRamaphosa do something please"
