A man, Daniel Chimezie Mbah, on Wednesday, November 4, narrated the touching story of how he lost his leg at the age of three in 2000 when his family was living in Abuja.

He said he was coming together with his school mates, playing football when they kicked the ball to a restaurant’s open-air kitchen. To retrieve it, Daniel mistakenly walked on burning coals thinking they were just harmless ashes.

Sinking into a hole filled with burning charcoals, he was trapped and could not immediately get help until one of his legs got disfigured.

He lived most of his childhood with a very bad leg until it was later amputated as a solution to ease him of the pains.

After the surgery, he stayed in the hospital for months because he needed a prosthetic leg. When it, however, came, the thing was so heavy that it did not do much to help mobility.

To make ends meet, the man had to raise money to get a used tricycle popularly known as keke. With the ban on it as a means of transportation on major roads in Rivers state, his means of survival is threatened.

A part of his thread read:

"My name is Daniel Chimezie Mbah, from Emudo Nenwe, Aninri LGA of Enugu state, Nigeria. I was born on February 17th 1997 at Suleja Niger state. I and my family were living at Madalla/Zuba in Abuja. When I was about 3yrs old, in the year 2000, I had a terrible accident that disfigured my right leg.

Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za earlier reported that a hardworking mathematics teacher, Michael Thompson, narrated how he was first received by his students when he walked into their class.

Michael, a physically-challenged man, said that his student never liked him as they mocked him because he uses crutches for movement.

He added that when he heard them say “how can this guy with crutches be our mathematics teacher”, it hurt him so badly.
