- This has been an ongoing challenge for a while among Stayers and many commended the patron for their lovely act of kindness
There's been an ongoing challenge during the festive season in SA where patrons tip their waiters 100%. Recently, Mthokozisi Future Dube shared an amazing tip left by a patron for him at his place of work.
The patron's bill amounted to R490, they doubled it up and gave the waiter R490 for his services. In total, they paid R980. Mthokozisi shared a picture of the bill to the #ImStaying group on Facebook and Stayers are loving it. He captioned the post:
"#I am staying because of the generosity, love and kindness rendered by people with a big heart and Soul... #Give your waiter a 100% tip this festive season challenge *2020*..."
Briefly.co.za took to the #ImStaying comments section to see what Stayers had to say.
Cindy Phindy Mkhize wrote:
"If I have the means I would, blessed is the giving hand."
Nikie Nix said:
"Wow, we've got amazing generous people in SA."
Pelewa Phophi Mphephu commented:
"Congratulations on receiving your tip Future. Many more to come."
Refilwe Mashishi added:
"Thank you for reminding us of that challenge. I am definitely giving someone a 100% gratuity this year. Last year I was a waitress and the same thing happened to me. I was ecstatic so I definitely want someone to feel the same joy I felt."
In similar news, Briefly.co.za recently reported on an amazing restaurant patron who left a R4 000 tip for charity. A Cape Town pizza place shared a picture of a patron's bill where their order amounted to just R415 but they donated an extra R4 000.
Massimo's is based in Hout Bay and they started a 'Pay It Forward' initiative recently. This initiative allows patrons to virtually purchase pizza slices. The restaurant then delivers the slices or full pizzas to local organisations or charities. They captioned the post:
"Sometimes we get a reminder that 'angels' exist... 400 #payitforward slices means we have 66 more pizzas to donate!!! Grazie. We really have great clients."
