- Maps has been dragged on social media following his request on behalf of his waiters and waitresses
Maps Maponyane recently took to social media to ask Mzansi peeps to tip waiters and waitresses well. The owner of Buns Out restaurant has been dragged on Twitter following his request. Tweeps shared that the media personality should pay his staff well instead.
Maps, who has been a restaurant owner for one year, took to Twitter on Thursday and asked his 1.3 million followers to pay his waiters extra when they tip them. The TV presenter wrote:
"If you can, please tip your waitresses and waiters well."
The star's request did not go down well with most of his fans. They slammed him for allegedly not paying his staff well. Check out some of the comments below:
"I will never understand this tip thing and how it became mandatory. Why don't restaurants give their waiters proper wages? I mean we are already paying for the meal. It's a practice we have come to accept and have not challenged it."
"If you can, please pay them well enough so that they don’t need us to tip them for doing their job."
"If you can, please PAY your waitresses and waiters well for doing their jobs to help your business make money for you."
"Pay your waitresses and waiters well, leave us out of it... We paid for our meal."
"Pay them enough for them not to rely on tips."

In other entertainment news, Briefly.co.za reported that AKA has reacted to Cassper Nyovest claiming that he boxes like Mzansi media mogul, Connie Ferguson. Cassper recently told Slikour in an interview on Onlife Radio that he's going to "hurt" Supa Mega on the day of their boxing match.
Mufasa shared that he has been training hard and AKA doesn't stand a chance with him in the ring. When Slikour told Mufasa that AKA has also been sharing videos of himself training, Mufasa threw major shade at AKA. The Amademoni hitmaker replied to Slikour:
"That's not even boxing bro, that's like Connie Ferguson does that stuff... I'm really gonna hurt him."
A tweep took to the Fela In Versace hitmaker's timeline on Thursday, 5 November to tell him what Mufasa said during the interview. Tweep @MomentoThe told AKA:
"@akaworldwide dude, Tsibip on Slikour was saying you box like Connie Ferguson."
Mega, who is known for his spicy clap-backs, also decided to throw a bit of shade at the direction of Cass. He said:
"That’s funny... because Connie Ferguson would kick his *ss."
