Addressing pressing issues is not easy because there normally may opposing opinions. However, Pearl is not scared of a little fight, especially when it is for something she strongly believes in.

We live in a world where there are many pressing issues that do not get the attention they deserve and it is thanks to celebrities like Pearl that conversations regarding this issue spark in the first place.

1. Gender-based Violence

Pearl Thusi is standing up against gender-based violence in South Africa. Things are getting worse and Pearl feels it is her duty as a public figure and as a woman of Mzansi to speak up.

Taking to social media after an outcry to government, Pearl urged her followers to sign a partition that would force action. The government has allegedly gone quiet on the matter and the women of Mzansi are suffering as a result.

2. Colourisim

Pearl has been a victim of colourism many times, so she knows first hand the damage it can cause. Not being black enough for some, Pearl has endured a lot of heartache.

A few months ago, Pearl Thusi and Bonnie Mbuli got into a bit of a twar over the colourism issue in Mzansi. Pearl spoke up about dealing with discrimination because of how light she is, and it sparked quite the debate.

3. Adoption as a Single Parent

Pearl Thusi surprised us all when a precious little princess suddenly started popping up like she was never not there. Okuhle was the missing piece of the Thusi clan that has now been completed.

Even though Okuhle was not hidden by Pearl, how she joined the family was never something that was openly discussed. Pearl feels adoption is a personal choice that requires an unwavering kind of love.

Pearl Thusi took to social media to tell her followers that she enjoys trolling Mzansi peeps who dislike foreign nationals. The media personality was dragged on Twitter when she defended foreign nationals against tweeps who were asking government to put South Africans first.

The Queen Sono actress had tweeted that killing African nationals that reside in South Africa was something she will never defend.
