While many brides dream of extravagant weddings and having all of the bells and whistles they could ever imagine, not all brides can afford the hefty price tags that come with all the glitz and the glamour. Facebooker, Mercia Crotz, a new bride, recently shared some amazing advice with those who can't afford expensive weddings.
"Thinking back to last year. Lorenzo and I had decided to get married on a weekend away after being broken up for just over a year. We both had the urge and desire to be together but we never had the money for our idea of a fancy wedding.
"It is every girls dream to have the fairytale do with ALL the trimmings but God convinced me otherwise. In a period of 6 weeks, we planned this wedding with no budget for dresses, suits, photograpers and the whole package that goes with it.
"We hired a little chapel that cost us something like R2k, our 23 guests paid for their own meals, a family friend took pictures, my mom made my dress, I did my own make up, I did my own nails, I didn't even bother with my hair because I refused to place myself and him under so much pressure just for it to be the way society expected it to be and look," she wrote.
She then went on to explain how she and her man were well provided for by God months after the wedding and even during the harsh reality that is Covid-19. Stayers thanked her for the heartwarming post.
In other feel-good Briefly.co.za news, a picture of two stunning ladies dressed in traditional Venda attire was recently shared in Facebook's ImStaying group by a proud beautiful young Venda lady, Zwanga Bless Shumani Tshivhase.
Simply captioning the post, "#lmstayingVenda tradition," Zwanga managed to capture the attention of over 20 000 Stayers who simply loved the beautiful bright colours of the patterned traditional wedding clothes.
Many of them headed to the comment section to express just how much they loved it. While a lot of the Stayers complimented the ladies and their traditional wear, a few guys tried to shot their shots.
