Mzansi celebs wish the legendary Esther Mahlangu a happy 85th birthday

Dr Esther Mahlangu, the globally-acclaimed artist and South African icon, celebrated turning 85 years old.
Admirers from all over took to the comments section of her social media accounts to wish her a hapy birthday and to share how much she and her work has inspired them.
Some of Mzansi's favourite celebrities joined in on the well-wishing and posted to their own social media to wish Dr Mahlangu the best for her year ahead.

Esther Mahlangu was wished by the likes of Minnie Dlamini, who posted a photo of Dr Mahlangu and captioned her post:
"Happy Birthday Gogo wishing you usuku oluhle. So blessed by your talents and to get to celebrate you while you’re still with us. 85 years young"
Some stars like Maps Maponyane and Nomzamo Mbatha took to their Instagram stories to send birthday love. Whichever way it was expressed there was one certainty, Dr Esther Mahlangu is an inspiration to all.
Briefly.co.za reported on Dr (Mama) Esther Mahlangu celebrating a landmark birthday with a new exhibition of her artworks. Mama Esther turns 85 on 11 November and will be launching her largest solo exhibition on 19 November. The exhibition, curated by artist Ruzy Rusike, is titled ‘Esther Mahlangu 85’.
The exhibition will be presented at The Melrose Gallery in Johannesburg and will also be available to view online. The exhibition will last until 20 December. The exhibition will show artwork created over the last three years.
The artwork that will be showcased includes bold paintings with geometric patterns, something Mama Esther has become well-known for, as well as sculptures.
According to IOL, Mama Esther also famously collaborated with luxury car brand Rolls-Royce on their Phantom model, the vehicle was dubbed ‘The Mahlangu’. A report by News24 said that Mama Esther has also joined forces with Carol Bouwer to create a limited 50 custom bags range.
Many South Africans have taken to Twitter to wish the Ndebele artist a happy birthday.
