In other news about international icons passing away, recently reported that fans are mourning a titan of the television industry as Hollywood confirmed that one of the co-creators of Scooby-Doo passed away.

The American producer and co-creator of Scooby-Doo, Ken Spears, passed away at the age of 82 after battling complications from dementia, BBC News reports.

The same media reported that the producer’s death was confirmed by his son, Kevin, during a chat with The Hollywood Reporter. Kevin said his father bade the world goodbye on Friday, 6 November.

Warner Bros. president, Sam Register, also confirmed Spears' passing in a statement which extended condolences to his family.

Earlier also reported on the passing of Auditor-General Kimi Makwetu on Wednesday afternoon, confirmed by the National Audit Office.

In a statement released on Wednesday evening by the office it was reported that Makwetu passed away in hospital after being diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer in 2018:

"It is with great sadness and shock that we announce the passing of Auditor-General Kimi Makwetu this afternoon."
