- The event was massive and was more like a party than a funeral, just as Ginimbi would have wanted it
Zimbabwean businessman Genius “Ginimbi” Kadungure was laid to rest today in a lavish funeral which would have been the envy of many politicians.
When news spread that Ginimbi had passed away, people were distraught, the man cast a long shadow and he was very popular. People often referred to him as the Minister of Entertainment.
Fans and friends posted touching testimonials to the man who was live by many.
The funeral was not a small affair, he had set money aside for his own funeral and it was described as presidential.
The funeral, as per his wishes, was all white and many of the guests respected his wishes and dressed in all white.
It was a massive event, treated more like a party, which is exactly the way Ginimbi intended.
Earlier, Briefly.co.za reported that Genius 'Ginimbi' Kadungure was killed in a car accident last week, along with his three passengers.
News of the socialite's death has been dominating online discussion, and recently spiralled into online users deciding to hold the brand of the car Ginimbi was driving responsible for his death.
Thousands of commenters descended on the Rolls-Royce Facebook page, spewing anger and vitriol and blaming the car company for Ginimbi's vehicle bursting into flames.
The Facebook page had comments alleging the design of the car was faulty and that an expensive vehicle such as a Rolls-Royce should not have reacted the way that Ginimbi's did in the accident.
Twitter exploded with opinions on the angry mob, with many reminding commenters that they were not qualified or informed enough to make the types of comments that they were posting.
