The internet is familiar with the popular "How it started vs How it's going" challenge due to it having been one of the most widely-circulated ones of 2020. The challenge recently picked up its latest participant, global icon Oprah Winfrey.
Oprah participated in the challenge by constructing a meme out of two pictures of interviews she had done with President Barack Obama. The "How it started" photo was from early in his political career and the "How it's going" from a recent one about his upcoming book.
Fans loved the media giant's participation in a silly internet challenge and expressed love for both her and Obama in the comments. They clearly enjoyed the meme too, liking it more than 300 000 times.
Part of Oprah's caption read:
"Sixteen years and six interviews later, former President Barack Obama and I are sitting back down to talk about A Promised Land, his highly anticipated memoir based on the first part of his historic presidency. And let me tell you something, this book is worth the wait!"
Some fans took to the comments section to offer their thoughts, with one gushing:
gruenhagencarla: "I remember one of the first times you had interviewed Barack from Illinois, on your show... I thought to myself, what an incredibly intelligent, educated man he was!! I knew I would vote for him for I loved his message... I still love his message today!! My favourite president of all!!!"
Oprah's 'daughter-girl', Thando Dlomo, who attended the Oprah Winfrey Academy, also commented on the post, saying:
