There has never been a better time to ask who your friends are? Or rather, who your rich friends are?
Well, if it were George Clooney, then you would be a millionaire out of the blue.
This comes after the actor admitted to gifting 14 of his closest friends around $1million each for their kindness and helping him when he was in need.
In a candid interview with GQ for the Men Of The Year issue, the actor confirmed rumours about his giveaway back in 2013 and even shared how he got his hands on $1million in cash.
The actor said: "We are all good friends and I thought, without them, I don’t have any of this. And we are all really close. I thought if I get hit by a bus, they are all in the will. So why the f*** am I waiting to get hit by a bus?"
The 59-year-old said he got the cash at a classified place in Los Angeles, US, and bought 14 luxury luggage bags which he then placed a million dollars each.
Clooney then rented an untidy van written "Florist" and noted the cash was not as heavy as many would expect.
His assistant and some security guys were the ones losing their minds while he kept his cool and the next day he invited his 14 friends to his house.
He then showed them a map of places he had seen in the world saying if it were not for their generosity in letting him sleep on their couches and lending him some cash, it would have never happened.
And he said: "How do you repay people like that? And I said, ‘Oh, well: How about a million bucks?’ ”
The thespian said he was not expecting to have a family at the time, aged 52, and had gotten a huge payday after earning profits from the movie Gravity.
Clooney is definitely a rich man and one of his friends who he handed the $99k was Rande Gerber with whom he ended up making a whopping KSh 109 billion after selling a liquor brand in 2017.
Well, hope this helps you to not turn back that friend who always has a problem because he might just repay you even at 50 years of age, but again, it's never guaranteed.
The movie star is married to human-rights lawyer Amal Clooney and are blessed with twins.
