In other entertainment news, Briefly.co.za reported that T.I has shared that he believes Kendrick Lamar is the most successful revolutionary rapper alive. The About the Money rapper revealed this during an interview with Ebro Darden on The Ebro Show on Apple Music.
The US rapper and Ebro were chatting about some of the tracks that he included on The Message - a 25-track playlist aiming to celebrate Black love. Kendrick featured multiple times on T.I's list, which then prompted Ebro to ask him about the Grammy Award winning rapper. Ebro asked T.I what does Kendrick mean to him as a fan of hip-hop. T.I replied:
"Present day, I think he's probably the most successful revolutionary rapper alive, you dig? It's hard to sell. It's hard to do good business in the revolutionary category, you know what I mean? It's not easy."
He went on to explain that other revolutionary rappers like KRS-One, Common and Mos Def, among others, usually have to trade commercial success for speaking truth in the revolution.
"And Kendrick has been the one who has been able to simultaneously achieve both. That's extremely special. That's an art within itself."
