The video showed several taxis driving on the pavements, as other vehicles wait in traffic. Taxi drivers are infamous for their driving style, which often defies the South African road law.

As Briefly.co.za previously reported, in November a taxi was filmed blocking an ambulance in the emergency lane.

And, it appears now that the public transport drivers decided to shift from driving in emergency lanes, to simply driving on pavements, which is meant for pedestrians.

Since the video's release on 2 February, the clip was seen over half a million times. Social media users took to Facebook to express their disapproval for the taxi drivers going against the law and potentially putting other drivers, and pedestrians' lives at risk.
