Unathi has slammed the pastor who recently condemned women for participating in the #JohnVuliGateChallenge. The media personality took to social media this week to react to Pastor Jadezweni after he claimed that women were enticing men by dancing seductively to the trending song titled John Vuli Gate.
Unathi shared that she has also participated in the trending challenge. The Idols SA judge shared a video on Instagram where she spoke out about issues affecting women in Mzansi.
"A video that was trending last week of Umfundisi who was basically scolding us, women who actually love John Vuli Gate. It doesn’t matter if we agree or not, we are supposed to disagree and we are allowed to disagree."
Unathi expressed that she doesn't see anything wrong with women who take part in the viral challenge because they "dance to it with the bums that God gave us".
"He said the way you dance to that song... Don’t be shocked if you are victims of GB violence."
Unathi, who was clearly irritated by the pastor's utterances, had a lot of questions to the pastor.
"Mfundisi are you saying that I deserve to be raped?" she asked.
Unathi had captioned her post:
"LADIES where do you NOT feel safe... When do you NOT feel safe?"
Her female fans flooded her comment section with their views on the pastor's comments while some answered her questions. Check out some of their reactions below:
"I don’t feel safe anywhere. Even when I’m home with all doors locked, I still don’t feel safe."
"I don’t feel safe anywhere."
"These days it's hard to feel safe as a woman. I don't feel safe when I am not with my husband, especially in public. I can't wear certain things because I will get harassed or attract unwanted attention. Shuu... it's a lot."
"WOW. Great post Unathi. They whistle, they scream, they do all sorts of nasty gestures. It’s so tiring."
