Chelsea rise to the top of the Premier League table after beating Newcastle United 2-0 at St James' Park on Saturday, November 21.
The victory also saw Frank Lampard's men keep another clean sheet with Eduoard Mendy between the sticks away from home.
Federico Fernandez's own goal powered the visitors ahead just after ten minutes of action before Tammy Abraham sealed the victory with a superb goal in the 65th minute.
Fernandez ran into a cross from Mason Mount and deflected the ball into his own net in the early minutes of the opening half.
While Abraham's goal was a well-worked out plan between himself and Timo Werner as they outran four Newcastle defenders before eventually putting the ball in the back of the net.
Lampard's men were flamboyant enough upfront with the Hakim Ziyech adding flavour to the Blues attack from the right flank.
Mason Mount also gave a good account of himself in the game as they improve their title chances this campaign.
Meanwhile, the hosts were without their leading scorer Callum Wilson who was left out of the game due to injury.
Earlier, Briefly.co.za reported that Bruno Fernandes' spot-kick was all Manchester United needed to overcome stubborn West Bromwich Albion in a tough Premier League encounter at Old Trafford.
The victory saw the Red Devils claim their fourth league game of the ongoing season while also recording their first home win this campaign.
Spanish midfielder Juan Mata won the kick for the home team after his cross went to meet West Brom's defender before the 26-year-old powered the penalty into the left corner of the post.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men struggled almost all through the game as they could not find the back of the net in the first half.
Their breakthrough came in the 56th minute after the Portuguese sent the ball into the back of the net.
United have now risen to ninth on the table with 13 points from eight rounds of games but will have to step up their game if they must contend for the title. Solskjaer's men will however hope to step up their performance when they Istanbul Basaksehir in the Champions League next week.
