Halala: Master KG gets nod for MOBO Awards nomination, his fans react

Master KG is still flying the South African flag very high. The award-winning musician has been nominated at this year's Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards. The Jerusalema hitmaker got the nod in the Best African Act category.

The Limpopo-born musician will compete with the likes of Davido, Burna Boy, Wizkid and Tiwa Savage, among others. The nominees for this year's MOBO Awards were announced on Tuesday, 24 November. The ceremony will take place on 9 December.

The Mzansi artist took to Twitter on Tuesday to ask his fans to vote for him so he could bring the Best African Act trophy home. He also shared that he was excited to be part of the MOBO Awards. He wrote:

Master KG recently won the the Style Icon of the Year award at the SA Style Awards. He shared that he has bagged eight accolades in three weeks.

"I won another trophy yesterday ICON of The Year At The SA Style Awards which makes 8 awards in 3 weeks."

The awards ceremony took place at the Microsoft Theater but The Weeknd performed at a bridge in downtown Los Angeles just a few blocks away from the venue.
