Idols SA judge Unathi Msengana recently accomplished one of her personal missions — climbing to the peak of Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
Upon reaching the summit, she recorded an emotional video and sent it to her kids. She also shared it on her Instagram page. In the video, the star entertainer said:
I told you mommy is gonna be on top of the clouds. Can you see?
Unathi captioned the video as follows:
One of the intimate videos I sent to my babies to keep them part of my journey. The pride in their eyes when I got home was so beautiful. They want to go soon.
The week before we summited a 7 and 8 year old brother and sister summited. I told them we can think about going in a few years. The courageous spirit of our kids must be nurtured. Welcome home team Dot.Africa I'm a NEW WOMAN because of YOU.
According to Times Live, Unathi later described the experience of climbing Africa's tallest mountain as an emotional one. In another Instagram post, she said:
It was a very emotional trip for me because of the alone time I had but more so in losing Bra Hugh the day after I summitted and obviously constantly thinking of the INCREDIBLE Gugu Zulu on my trip.
I realised that we are NEVER alone and that we are living on borrowed time. So these shoulders we stand on. The shoulders of GIANTS, alive and resting are powerful shoulders.
