Yugen Blakrok is a female rapper from South Africa whose verse on Opps has been regarded as the best verse on the entire Black Panther album according to Billboard.

Billboard described Yugen’s verse as “an embodiment of dark strength and complexity,” comparing her to M.I.A and Kendrick Lamar.

The verse was compared to other verses on the album and topped a list of six verses with names like Future, Jay Rock and Jorja Smith.

Billboard goes on to say: "In a steady machine-like flow, she raps in a thick accent, “Roar like a lioness, punch like a cyborg.” It’s a line that addresses and embraces the fact that she’s a female without making it the entire point, something that seems timely and fitting for the MC."

The rapper is based in Johannesburg but has a small number of fans in South Africa. She has been on 3 European tours as she was trying to capture a more diverse and bigger audience.

Back home in SA she has performed alongside names such as Public Enemy (2012), Sage Francis (2015) and JerutheDamaja(2016).

She has also featured on several international collaborations, releasing music with artists such as Jak Progresso, Naomi Pilgrim, Copywrite, Poetic Death and Planet Asia.

Her verse on Opps has caught the attention of local and international fans alike, and she seems set to take the world by storm.
