Makhadzi hit with defamation lawsuit by former manager after tweets

Makhadzi recently took to social media to open up about her futile relationship with her former manager Rita Dee Nephawe.

The Matorokisi hitmaker took to Twitter on Sunday, 29 November and alleged that Rita Dee has not paid her royalties from her debut album titled Matorokisi.

The musician also claimed that Rita owes her money from her two hit singles' YouTube views. Rita has hit back at Makhadzi's claims. The ex-manager has decided to hit the artist with a defamation of character lawsuit.

Rita has shared that she has not received any payment for Makhadzi's YouTube videos. The music videos for Matorokisi and Riya Venda had garnered close to 20 million views on the app before Rita deleted them.

Rita told City Press that Makhadzi should speak to Open Mic Productions about her royalties in connection with her Matorokisi album. The manager has instructed her lawyers to give Makhadzi legal papers as she intends to sue her following her tweets.

She also confirmed to the publication that she deleted Makhadzi's music videos from YouTube on Saturday morning, 28 November "after she sent threats on Facebook".

The Macala hitmaker took to Instagram on Wednesday, 2 December to share a statement apologising to his fans about what happened on Monday night. He was in the middle of his performance at an event in Soshanguve when he suddenly fell and had to be carried off stage. In the viral video, Mlindo can be seen totally out of it and being carried off stage by a bodyguard.

"I would like to sincerely apologise to my supporters and everyone for everything that took place in this past weekend. I will not get into details but I take full responsibility of my actions, and I will not blame it on anyone but myself."

The star promises to behave when he goes out to perform next time. Mlindo added:

"I will be better and act better next time."
