Prince Kaybee extremely concerned and saddened by the viral video that has done its rounds of a man beating his lady. The Themba clip has raised many eyebrows and made gender-based violence a hot topic once again.
While Kaybee is happy that this video has created awareness and is giving the issue power again, he is saddened by the thought of how many women out there have Thembas in their homes.
Taking to social media after having seen the uproar the clip has caused, Kaybee expressed his sadness and concern. Women need to talk up, people need to show support and men need to stop covering for abusers.
“My other concern is that there’s other Thembas out there who never make it to social media, that do this on a regular, I think about that a lot.”
Enraged people took to the comment section to share their concern and sadness too. Kaybee is not alone in feeling the way he does, there are many out there with heavy hearts regarding this too.
“What annoys me the most is that his even making a video I can see the fear in that woman's eyes and pain aw Themba... let us find that animal called Themba.”
“Prince Kaybee the lady asked specifically that you stay out of her business with Themba's voice still in the background telling her what to say. My heart is heavy.”
“Some of this abusive people are on social media, acting like good people, while they are busy raping and abusing women and children I just can't believe.”
“When will this end? It's clear that what we're doing is not enough. What new strategies can we implement to fight GBV? We need to change directions now but the question is, where to from here? We still have a long way.”
Briefly.co.za previously reported that after a video surfaced of a woman being beaten up by her partner, South Africans have been trying to get justice. The man has been identified only as "Themba" as she called his name in the video.
The video of the abuse starts with the lady asking someone to stop sending her messages on her personal WhatsApp number and to rather use the group chat. Before she could complete her sentence, a man off camera begins to beat her.
Now, the same lady has been recorded once more. This time she is laying a charge against the person who posted the video of her being abused. The woman says she is fine and well and is opening a case of defamation of character against the person who uploaded the video.
