- The fear of the ever-busy Lagos Third Mainland Bridge has made an unnamed lady reject a job offer on the island
- Despite the help of free transport of her home, the applicant maintained that would not solve her phobia of water
- There were mixed reactions to the girl's rejection as people were divided between acknowledging her fear and calling her an unserious job hunter
A lady has turned down an offer of a very good job because she is scared of the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos state.
A Twitter user, Lola Okunrin, made it known on Wednesday, December 2, saying the job was going to be paying a salary of R7 500 every month.
When the lady applied for the job, she thought she would be working at the mainland branch of the company.
Okunrin said due to the COVID-19 pandemic, operations were restricted to just the company's offices on the island.
Despite a worker offering to transport her so she does not have to worry about scouting for transport, the lady maintained her stance.

The tweets have attracted mixed reactions from Nigerians, many of who felt the lady is not in serious need of a job.
Below are some of the reactions:
"A lot of us take other people's phobias for granted. There are people who cannot stand the sight of heights, most of these people you crossing the road despite the pedestrian bridge, you think they just wanna play "chicken" with oncoming traffic?"
"No dulling. Is the job still open, wey link abeg? One lady's 3rd Mainland Bridge is another's 1st Main Bridge."
"Abt 6 years ago when I was a BRT bus driver, I had this particular passenger friend that begs me not to use 3rd MB or if need be I must be on the hard left at all time. Phobia for water is really and 3rd MB is 5/8 minutes at 100kmph. She has a life."
"Her village people dey intimidate her on top the bridge or she be mammy water house maid."
