- Claudine and Charles Phillips have proven they really meant their wedding vows
- The couple have been living in an old car for about a year
- Claudine can’t work because of a medical condition and Charles has been unable to find employment
When couples get married there are a couple of phrases in the wedding vows which no-one hopes to test. These phrases are: for better or worse and through good times and bad times.
Claudine and Charles Phillips got married 10-years ago and made these sacred vows to each other, little did they know how their sacred promised would be tested during their lives.
The couple has been living in an old car for nearly a year and say they have never thought about getting a divorce.
Briefly.co.za gathered that Claudine suffers from a medical condition which makes it impossible for her to work, Charles has been (as with so many millions of others) been unable to find employment.
The couple used to live with Charles’s family in Randfontein but family problems forced them to move to Eldorado Park where they have friends.
Unfortunately for the couple, their friends were unable to provide them with accommodation. The couple is unable to make the journey back to Randfontein so they thought they would live in the car as a temporary measure.
Charles arranged to park the car in a lot which is filled with shacks.
Claudine and Charles are able to use ablution facilities, daily thanks to local NGO’s and the Local Economic Civil Association. The couple is however forced to make use of an open field if they need to relieve themselves during the night.
Charles bought the car 15-years ago when he was employed as a security guard.
