Natalie Desselle-Reid, the actress known for her roles in projects like the film Madea's Big Happy Family and television series Eve, passed away on Monday, 7 December at the age of 53.
Dolores Robinson, Natalie's manager, confirmed the news on Twitter and Instagram through a statement she posted to the platforms.
The statement confirmed that Natalie passed away after a battle with colon cancer and Robinson paid tribute by saying:
"Natalie was a bright light. She was an amazing actress and comedienne but also an awesome mother & wife."
The statement on Natalie's Instagram ended with:
"Naturally, we are grieving and processing this profound loss and we thank you in advance for respecting our privacy at this extremely difficult time."
Social media users posted comments of condolence to the family. Followers sent love and some colleagues from the entertainment industry sent messages too.
Halle Berry wrote a comment that read:
"Heartbroken. Will love her and her memory my whole life. May God bless her family and beautiful children. Rest softly my sweet friend."
