OR Tambo International Airport officials have joined the Hawks in the search for Ajay Gupta, who is now considered to be a fugitive.

According to report, officials are working with the Hawks to track down Gupta.

He is wanted by the Hawks in connection with money laundering and fraud, which relates to the Estina dairy farm project in the Free State.

Eyewitness News reported Leigh Gunkel-Keuler, OR Tambo International Airport spokesperson, said their records show Gupta left the airport on a Dubai-bound Emarites flight on 6 February.

Gunkel-Keuler said if Gupta returned to South Africa, he may have done so through other ports of entry.

However, she said airport officials will meet with Hawks investigators to hand over camera footage, which shows Gupta's departure and also confirm his flight details.
