Cassper Nyovest gets the nod to feature on the 2018 FIFA World Cup song

- Cassper has been chosen as South Africa's representative to feature on the Soccer World Cup theme song

- He was chosen along with artists from other African countries

- Jasen Derulo will be recording the theme song for Coca-Cola in preparation for the World Cup

After Cassper Nyovest's successful hosting of his concert at FNB Stadium where he pulled in massive numbers, he has been given the opportunity to feature on the World Cup song.

He announced via his social media platforms that he was on his way to L.A to partner up with Coca-Cola. However, he wasn't clear on why he was on his way to the US.

Briefly.co.za confirmed that Coca-Cola announced that it had chosen Jason Derulo to record the World Cup theme song for the Soccer World Cup later this year according to sahiphopmag.co.za.

The massive soft-drink company also revealed that SA's very own Mufasa will feature on the song.

Coca-Cola has also invited musicians from Ethiopia, Mozambique and Tanzania to create versions of the song that would be representative of their nations cultures.

“Coming from a nation of colourful people this anthem will speak to South Africans as the song captures our passions for football and Coca-Cola. Working with Coca-Cola and Jason Derulo, has been a thrilling journey and we hope that this anthem will be well received by fans getting #Ready for the 2018 FIFA World Cup,” said Cassper.
